PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) is a popular online multiplayer battle royale game developed and published by PUBG Corporation, a subsidiary of South Korean video game company Bluehole. It was first released in March 2017 for Microsoft Windows via Steam's early access beta program, and later expanded to other platforms including Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Android, and iOS.

 

 

In PUBG, up to 100 players parachute onto an island and scavenge for weapons and equipment to eliminate other players while avoiding being eliminated themselves. The playable area of the game's map gradually decreases in size over time, forcing players into closer quarters and increasing the chances of encounters. The last player or team standing wins the round.

 

 

PUBG became immensely popular shortly after its release and is credited with popularizing the battle royale genre, inspiring numerous other games in the same vein. It has also spawned competitive esports tournaments and has a large player base worldwide.
